Meta Ads MCP for Claude: Setup and What to Ask
TLDR
- Yes, there is a Meta Ads MCP for Claude, and there are two kinds: servers that manage your own ad account, and servers that read other brands' public ads.
- Proxy is the second kind. It connects Claude to the Meta Ad Library, Google Ads Transparency Center, LinkedIn Ad Library and TikTok's EU ad library, read-only, with no API keys.
- In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Proxy, paste https://mcp.useproxy.dev/mcp and sign in. In Claude Code, run one command.
- The free plan gives 20 credits a day with no card.
If you searched for a Meta Ads MCP for Claude, you probably want one of two different things. Either you want Claude to work inside your own ad account, or you want Claude to look at what other brands are running. This guide covers the second, and shows how to connect it in about two minutes.
(Proxy publishes this blog and makes the tool described here. Setup steps match the install page at useproxy.dev/welcome, checked October 2026.)
Is there a Meta Ads MCP for Claude?
Yes. There are two kinds, and they do different jobs.
- Account-management servers connect Claude to your own Meta ad account so you can read reports and manage campaigns by chat. Meta's own connector and third-party servers like Pipeboard sit here. Our guide to setting up a Meta Ads MCP compares them.
- Ad library servers read the public ad libraries, so Claude can show you what any brand is running right now. Proxy is one of these. It never touches your ad accounts. See the ad library MCP servers compared for the others.
Pick by the question you are asking. "How did my campaigns do last week?" needs the first kind. "What is my competitor running on Facebook, Google and LinkedIn this month?" needs the second.
How do you connect Meta ads to Claude?
You connect Proxy to Claude as a custom connector. The endpoint is https://mcp.useproxy.dev/mcp and sign-in is OAuth, so there are no API keys to copy. Pick the route that matches how you use Claude.
Claude on the web, mobile or Desktop
- Open Claude and go to Customize → Connectors, then choose Add custom connector. This link opens the dialog directly.
- Name it Proxy, paste
https://mcp.useproxy.dev/mcp, and add it. - Sign in or sign up when prompted. The free plan needs no card.
- When Claude asks for permission to use a Proxy tool, choose Always allow. Proxy is read-only.
A connector added on the web also works in Claude's mobile app and in scheduled routines.
Claude Code
Run this in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http proxy https://mcp.useproxy.dev/mcp
Then run /mcp inside Claude Code to sign in, and restart Claude Code. When it asks to run a Proxy tool, choose Yes, and don't ask again.
One command for every Claude app on your machine
If you use more than one app, the installer sets them all up in one go:
curl -sL useproxy.dev/install | sh
It signs you in once and writes the config for the agents it finds: Claude Code, Claude Desktop (on macOS) and Cursor. For Claude on the web it prints the three steps to finish in the browser, with the URL copied to your clipboard where it can.
What can you ask Claude once it is connected?
Name a brand and say which platforms you care about. Claude calls the right tools, pulls the ads and reads them for you. A few that work well:
- "What Meta and Google ads is [brand] running right now? Group them by angle and tell me which have been live longest."
- "Search the Meta Ad Library for 'collagen gummies' and show me the hooks that repeat."
- "Find five competitors to [brand] and pull their LinkedIn ads."
- "Transcribe [brand]'s top video ad and break down the first three seconds."
- "Write a one-page competitive brief on [brand] from the ads you just pulled."
Ads show up inside the chat with links back to where they came from. For a weekly habit, ask Claude to re-run the same pull on a schedule. In Claude Code you can do that with /schedule.
How many credits does a session cost?
Each ad library or analysis call costs 1 credit, and batch calls cost 1 credit per item. Checking your balance is free. By our count, looking up three competitors and pulling their Meta and Google ads is about a dozen calls, so the free 20 credits a day covers a small research pass. Pro is $50 a month for 100 credits a day and Max is $100 a month for 250 a day. There are no overage charges: when credits run out you get an upgrade link, not a bill.
What Claude cannot do with it
Be clear about the limits before you rely on it.
- It reads public ad library data only. It does not show spend, clicks or results for commercial ads, because the libraries do not publish them.
- TikTok coverage is the EU ad library, searched by exact advertiser name, so US-only TikTok ads do not appear.
- It cannot create, edit or pause ads in your account. For that you want an account-management server.
If you are comparing the libraries themselves, free ad libraries compared lays out what each one shows and hides. Using ChatGPT or Cursor instead? See the ChatGPT guide and the Cursor guide.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Account-management servers connect Claude to your own Meta ad account, and ad library servers like Proxy let Claude read any brand's public ads. They solve different problems, so choose by whether you want to manage your ads or study someone else's.
For competitor ads, add Proxy as a custom connector: Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Proxy, paste https://mcp.useproxy.dev/mcp and sign in. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http proxy https://mcp.useproxy.dev/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.
Yes, in two ways. Connected to an account-management server it can read your reports. Connected to Proxy it can pull competitors' live Facebook and Instagram ads from the Meta Ad Library, group them by angle and draft a brief from them.
Connect Proxy, then ask Claude for a brand's current Facebook and Instagram ads, or search a topic like a product category to see every angle being tested. Proxy reads the public Meta Ad Library, so no ad account or API key is needed.
